On Friday 21st April 2017, a dozen or so members of the choir spent the day training in first aid in the workplace. This was to ensure there is always somebody present in the choir who is trained to deal with situations requiring first aid should they arise. To see a summary of what we learnt, click here.
Time to Change- Harrow Civic Centre
On Thursday, 11th May 2017, More Than Just A Choir were invited to perform at Harrow Civic Centre. This was part of an event organised by Harrow Council to highlight the importance of raising awareness of mental health in the workplace. The choir was joined by TOGs and the Ukulele group. We were provided with two table stalls; one for TOGs and one set up by Anne providing information about Rethink. TOGs made good use of their stall, displaying their fantastic creative work.
Outside the Chamber Room, the Ukulele group serenaded everyone with their outstanding performances.
After speeches from Council members, More Than Just A Choir got down to business and showed everyone what a brilliant choir we are.
To commemorate the pledge being signed, cake was served, after which the Ukulele group performed a second set.
